Caellan and Penny
My personal message:
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page! I started working for Southeastern Guide Dogs 4 years ago and when I started working here, my life forever changed! The cliff notes version of my journey in the past 4 years: I've been blessed to name 2 Superheroes because of the generosity of my family and friends contributing to my Walkathon fundraising, together we named two puppies-in-training! Both puppies were named in memory of my grandmothers; Zara and Mabel. To date, both Zara & Mabel are now grown up and each fulfilling their destiny as Superheroes. Zara is loving her life as a Veteran Service Dog, she and her forever veteran have been traveling and she’s been able to provide him with security and independence, as well as sneak lots of kisses! Mabel was recently chosen to be a breeder, making her the top 10% of our dogs, she has the ideal health and temperament that we like to reproduce in our Superheroes, she will be the mom of several life changing Superheroes.
In the past 4 years I raised 2 Superheroes! I co-raised an amazing golden retriever named Ruby, she fulfilled her destiny as a Guide Dog paired with her perfect match, Frank. Ruby helps Frank hold his head high, she helps give his wife Pam a sense of security, knowing that Ruby will keep Frank safe and I gained a new family that I cherish and I know I’m fortunate to have them in my life. The second puppy I raised is my forever golden girl, Penny; she was selected as a breeder a year ago and since then has had a litter of 8 Superheroes in April of 2018 – we are looking forward to what the future holds and excited to learn what careers her puppies chose! She is loving life as a pet and hogging the bed, she is my Pretty Penny, my “Penny Saver!” Thank you for visiting our page and donating xoxo
Did you know that Southeastern Guide Dogs breeds, raises, and trains some of the finest guide dogs and service dogs in the world? Thanks to the intelligence and fine training of these dogs, people with vision loss and veterans with disabilities find the freedom, confidence, and independence they need. Southeastern Guide Dogs relies 100% on private donations, receives no government funding, and doesn't charge students and veterans for their services.
I've set an ambitious Walkathon fundraising goal, and your help means a lot to me—and to the people whose lives are changed forever because of these extraordinary dogs. Join me in supporting Southeastern Guide Dogs in its mission to raise and train these puppies and provide such a priceless service. Thank you for your help!
P.S. Help break a World Record! At this year's Walkathon, Southeastern Guide Dogs will attempt to break an existing World Record for the largest gathering of dogs wearing bandanas at a single event. We need you! All you have to do is show up with your dog(s), and they will supply the bandanas. Bring your friends and their dogs and help us break a world record!
